November 2 to 4, 2017 in Rabat, Morocco

Dear Colleagues

Greetings

The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, and University Mohammed V are pleased to announce the Fifth Arab-American Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Symposium. The upcoming meeting will be held on November 2 to 4, 2017 in Rabat, Morocco, in partnership with Mohammed V University and hosted by L'École Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique et d'Analyse des Systèmes (ENSIAS). The call for applications is now open and we are contacting you because you have been nominated by our organizing committee to participate in this symposium. Nominees are invited to submit their application online before the deadline of June, 30, 2017, 11:59 PM EDT (Washington D.C. time).
Based on the success of the long standing Kavli Frontiers of Science of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and the Frontiers of Engineering program of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, the National Academies initiated the Arab-American Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine program. This program brings together outstanding young scientists, engineers, and medical professionals, between the ages of 30 and 45, from the United States and the 22 countries of the Arab League for a series of symposia to discuss exciting advances and opportunities in their fields. The goal of these meetings is to enhance scientific exchange and dialogue among young researchers in Arab countries and the United States, including the Arab science diaspora, and through this interaction facilitate research collaboration within and beyond the region.
One of the main objectives of this Frontiers symposium is to advance our understanding of cutting-edge S&T trends in the U.S. and the Arab region and to foster dialogue and collaborations across disciplines. The upcoming symposium will address the following topics:

• Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene
• Renewable Energy
• Precision Medicine & Cancer
• Smart Agriculture
• Smart Cities
We strongly encourage young scientists, engineers and medical professionals working on related research to apply to this truly pluri-disciplinary meeting, as long as they fulfill the eligibility criteria. Please also distribute to your colleagues and network they would contribute to this symposium. Each general participant will also have the opportunity to present his or her research during poster sessions. Travel of selected participants will be covered. More details on the fifth symposium, organization and program can be found here

Please remember to submit your application online by the deadline of June 30, 2017. Applications will be reviewed and decisions will be made by the end of the summer.
