Dear Professor
As you can see in our web page, airy.ual.es, we have calculated the
geoids of Iberia, and the geoid of the different country (Morocco,
Argentine,) is sent to publication…. Now we have processing the data
of Egypt, Algeria…….. Our objective is calculate the geoid of the North
of Africa. So, we can calculate the geoid of different country of Medium
Orient (Jordan, Arabia Saudi, Kuwait,……). For this objective, we have
necessities of gravity data and GPS level, we can see the paper of
geoid of Iberia. I am waiting your response.

RESEARCH LINES ON SEISMOLOGY

Title : Shear wave velocity structure beneath the Iberian Peninsula as obtained by a detailed analysis of
long-period Rayleigh waves.

Keywords : dispersion, filtering, attenuation, Iberia, inversion, Rayleigh waves

Objectives : New features of the Iberian lithosphere-asthenosphere system are the principal
objective of these studies. This objective will be achieved by using several filtering
techniques and the inversion method made in accordance with generalized inversion theory
(attenuation coefficients of Rayleigh waves are considered also).

Title : Shallow structure of the Iberian Peninsula as obtained by a detailed analysis of Rg waves.

Keywords : dispersion, filtering, Iberia, inversion, Rg waves

Objectives : Shallow velocity structure (shear velocity structure) of Iberia and Alboran
Sea are the principal objective of these studies. This objective will be achieved by using
filtering techniques and the inversion method. For this purpose we take to account Rg waves
registrations generated either by blasts or by local earthquakes.

Title : Inversion of surface waves dispersion in a sligthtly anisotropic medium.

Keywords : anisotropy, surface waves, dispersion, crust and upper mantle, inversion

Objectives : Crustal and upper mantle anisotropic structure is the principal objective of
these studies. This objective will be achieved by means of an inversion process made in
accordance with generalized inversion theory, in which the azimuthal variation of surface
wave velocity is considered.

Title : Iberian crustal structure determining by inversion of Rayleigh wave particle motion.

Keywords : ellipticity, Rayleigh wave, crust, inversion, Iberia

Objectives : Crustal and upper mantle structure is the principal objective of these studies.
This objective will be achieved by means of an inversion process made in accordance with
generalized inversion theory, in which the ellipticity of Rayleigh wave is considered
jointly with the dispersion of this kind of wave.

Title : Inversion of surface wave reflection and transmission coefficients at a vertical contact.

Keywords : surface wave, vertical contact, reflection and transmission coefficients, inversion

Objectives : Crustal and upper mantle structure (shear velocity structure) is the principal
objective of these studies. This objective will be achieved by means of the generalized
inversion of surface wave reflection and transmission coefficients. We take to account
surface wave propagating across a welded vertical contact between two structures,
with normal incidence at this interface.



RESEARCH LINES ON GEODESY AND GRAVITY


Title : Gravimetric geoid solutions for several regions of the Earth.

Keywords : GPS, Orthometric height, gravimetric geoid, FFT techniques

Objectives : The goal is to obtain the geoid undulation in several local regions of the Earth.
For this purpose, firstly, we will make gravity measurements for the regions mentioned above. Because of the
gravity anomalies are given in a limited area, cannot resolve the long wavelengths of the gravity field,
we need consider a geopotential model expansion for the computing of these long wavelengths,
which represents a smooth approximation of the geoid for the local area under study. Thus,
in a preprocessing step, we will obtain the free-air anomalies referenced to the geopotential model,
computing the difference with the anomalies predicted by this model, these difference will be used in
a FFT integration procedure to obtain the undulation of the geoid, which in a postprocessing step will
be added to the undulation geoid predicted by the geopotential model considered.


Title : The crustal structure and the Moho undulation from geophysical inversion of gravity data.

Keywords : Bouger anomalies, geophysical and geologic data, geophysical inversion, crustal structure, Moho

Objectives : The goal is to obtain crustal structure (density structure) and the Moho undulation in Iberia
and other regions of the world. For this purpose, firstly, we will make gravity measurements for the each
region mentioned above and we will obtain the Bouguer anomalies. Secondly, we will compute the inversion
process with the anomalies obtained above, taking to account other geophysical and geological data.
