TowardAbout the conference
The International Conference on the Applications of Geoinformatics aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers, and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Geoinformatics. The conference also aims to disseminate global scientific knowledge in the field of Geoinformation Technologies and Geoinformation Applications to local authorities and research bodies and acting as a bridge for dissemination of global scientific developments to locals. The workshops will be organized in the first day of the conference 15 October. The oral presentations and posters will be on 16-17 October 2024.

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences in collaboration with the Department of Geography, Yarmouk University and in partnership with Mazaari Autonomous Robotics System.

Papers may address one or more of the listed topics, although authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable, provided they fit in one of the following main topic areas:

Publications
Selected papers to be published in two journals as two special issues:
The Geographical Journal is published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the Royal Geographical Society (United Kingdom). It is indexed in SCOPUS and has an impact factor (Clarivate) 3 (2022).

The special issue will consist of 5 to 7 papers that are 8000 words long with 250 words abstract. Papers submitted for inclusion in a Special Section undergo the same rigorous peer review process as regular papers.

Poster Competition
Graduate students are encouraged to participate in the poster session. The best three posters will be awarded the following prizes in order US$ 250, US$ 200, and US$ 150. Posters format should be with A0 dimensions and portrait layout. Participants need to bring their posters printed as no poster printers will be available at the conference.

Tuesday 15 October 2024
Ice Breaker /Traditional Jordanian Night (Traditional songs and Dabka)
An icebreaker reception will take place at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 15 October 2024. At the start of the conference, the icebreaker will allow you to meet and network with your colleagues from other scientific areas. The event will be held on campus and will highlight some of the Jordanian's rich musical traditions. We welcome all attendees free of charge.

Campus Tour
We are arranging a tour on-campus at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 16 October 2024. The tour will take you around Yarmouk University campus showing you two fascinating museums: Museum of Jordanian Heritage and the Jordanian Natural History Museum. The participation fee is free of charge.

Dinner in Umm Qais / Qays
Umm Qais, also known as Umm Qays, is an ancient city in Jordan with a fascinating historical background. The Giordania Museum located there showcases the rich heritage of the region through a diverse collection of artifacts, including sculptures, pottery, and architectural remnants. Visitors can delve into the city’s past and explore exhibits that highlight the Greco-Roman influence on the area. The museum provides valuable insights into the culture, traditions, and daily life of the people who once inhabited Umm Qais, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts.
The participation fee is 30 Euros.

The International Conference on the Applications of Geoinformatics will be held at the conferences Building of Yarmouk University in Irbid city, Jordan.
Accommodation
Please be aware that the registration fee does not cover the accommodation expenses.The best hotels in Irbid city are 3 stars, which makes it is easy to find where to stay on a budget. Special hotel room rates will be arranged for the participants. More details about the discounted rates will be posted soon.
Visa to Jordan
All participants must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months and should check the visa requirements to enter the Jordan. Participants needing entry visas are encouraged to make their request soon.
