Prelude
The Middle East Seismological Forum was established in 2001. The forum is mainly focused on disseminating information related to Seismology and other fields of Earth science in the Middle East in general and the Arab region specifically. The forum has a scientific journal, an executive board, and an advisory body in which many seismologists in the Arab world and neighboring countries are involved through their contributions with information about their region’s activities and research.
The number of documented views are more than 39,000 viewers from different countries of the world, especially the US, Europe and China .
Forum goals
The forum aims primarily to cover the interdisciplinary fields of seismology, such as earthquake information sites and records, seismic engineering, environmental aspects in order to mitigate seismic risks, institutions concerned with earthquake studies, specialized scientific human resources, and to present the contributions of scientists and the frontiers of seismological research .
Forum Sections

The forum has multiple sections, the most important of which are the scientific journal, seismic research, special files, the record of international scientific conferences, the record of the advisory board member and the associate members ,mainly from Middle Eastern universities and research centers. A record of memorial photos of the conferences, lists of the most important monitoring centers and stations in the world and last but not least, the message board which in itself acts as a dynamic site for recording on going scientific events.
The MESF Cyber Journal of Geosciences
The journal was first launched in 2008, and it has an editorial board of scientists specialized in their research fields of geophysics. All research papers submitted go through professional review and evaluation. On the cyberjournal page we provide information on high ranked specialized journals and international geophysical organizations in addition to an introductory dictionary of geophysical terms. The journal welcomes geophysical research and conferences report , on the seismicity and geodynamics of the Middle Eastern region.

The Message Board
This board contains eleven chapters, which are listed here: 1. Scientific activities in the Arab region in particular, and the rest of the world in general 2. Important earthquakes in the region 3. Non-seismic natural hazards and disasters research 4. Seismological research. 5. Seismic hazards, seismic engineering, and risk management 6. Global seismic monitoring stations and research centers 7. Earth science research 8. History of Geophysics 9. International organizations and record of scientists’ research 10. Human activities and scientific communication 11. Geophysical activities and events published in the scientific media .
